At Land Bridge Partners, we believe the land economy is changing, and with it, the need for trusted advisors who can navigate agriculture, energy, and infrastructure at scale. We provide land services that bridge opportunities between landowners, investors, and developers, ensuring every acre is positioned for its highest and best use.

Our mission is simple: to support and strengthen the evolving land economy by combining deep agricultural expertise with innovative solutions for energy and infrastructure. With decades of combined experience, we deliver clarity, confidence, and lasting value to our partners.

Our Story

Land Bridge Partners was founded in 2021 after co-founders Will Ruffalo and Kane Wellnitz spent years developing farmland projects in Africa. That experience gave them a front-row view of how agriculture, infrastructure, and energy intersect, and how transformative land stewardship can be when done right.

When they returned to the United States, Will and Kane saw a unique opportunity: to bring that same global perspective to a rapidly shifting domestic land market. What began as a business sourcing agricultural land for energy development quickly grew into a full-service land platform. Today, Land Bridge Partners operates across three verticals, energy development, asset management, and capital syndication, helping clients navigate the most complex land challenges with confidence.

Will Ruffalo | Co-Managing Partner

William Ruffalo is an entrepreneurial executive with a unique blend of operating, investment, and agricultural expertise. He is a Co-Managing Partner and Co-Founder at Land Bridge Partners, where he leads initiatives across agricultural assets, land strategy, and large-scale development, with work spanning energy, infrastructure, and farmland operations.

Will is also a Partner at Twisted Oak Capital, where he focuses on deploying capital into agriculture, real assets, and emerging operating companies. His career centers on building and scaling business platforms, structuring investment vehicles, and managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects. Previously, he held leadership roles at Valmont Industries, overseeing multimillion-dollar irrigation portfolios in Latin America and contributing to the company’s global innovation efforts. His early career includes agricultural development work in East Africa, market research for John Deere, and researching developing international agriculture ecosystems at The Daugherty Water for Food Institute.

Will holds a B.S. in Agricultural Economics from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.

Kane Wellnitz | Co-Managing Partner

Kane Wellnitz is an agricultural business leader with deep experience in livestock production, agricultural infrastructure, and land management. He has consulted for Settje Agri-Services & Engineering, Valley Irrigation, and Tenaska, Inc., supporting projects across feedlots, dairy systems, irrigation, and large-scale energy and infrastructure development.

Kane grew up on the Wellnitz Family Ranch in western Nebraska, where he developed hands-on expertise in cattle operations and land stewardship. He continues to actively manage the ranch today.

Earlier in his career, Kane worked in East Africa on agricultural development initiatives, contributing to on-farm operations and livestock systems in challenging environments. His background also includes co-founding Savannah Breeders Service, leading livestock and genetics programs, and working in global equipment marketing with Sandhills Global.

Kane holds a B.S. in Agricultural Business from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and is an FAA-licensed pilot.

Manuel Acosta | General Manager

Manuel was raised in the Nebraska Panhandle, he brings lifelong agricultural experience, from row-crop and feedlot operations to seedstock and cow-calf enterprises. After attending the University of Nebraska–Lincoln studying Agricultural Business, Manuel returned home to work directly in production agriculture, gaining a practical understanding of the challenges producers face.

His passion is supporting the people who feed the world. Manuel values strong genuine relationships, clear communication, and helping producers find the right effective solutions for their operations-insight that strengthens Land Bridge Partners’ ability to serve agricultural communities.

Madalynn Welsh | Strategic Account Manager

Madalynn Welsh grew up on a cow calf operation in south-central Nebraska. Her involvement in production agriculture fostered a passion for the industry and inspired her to pursue an ag-focused career. She earned her degree in Applied Biotechnology from Auburn University and now serves as the Strategic Account Manager for Land Bridge Partners.

She is driven by the belief that strong relationships are essential to a sustainable and successful ag community. She takes pride in supporting both lenders and producers through communication, coordination, and a personal understanding of the industry that keeps America moving.
